Is the alarm loud enough to awake to? What is the tone? It looks as if there is a small hole on the end so can it be charged up? What type of battery?
1 Answer
This travel alarm runs only on one AAA battery, it cannot be charged up. The alarm is a beeping alarm and it is loud enough to wake you up, unless you're a very deep sleeper.

Too flimsy

At first I thought this clock was perfect. Just the basic functions I needed, none of the features that drive up the price of many clocks and make them more complicated to operate. The backlight was perfect -- light enough to be seen in a dark room but not bright enough to disturb one's sleep. But then, after using it only a handful of times, it broke. Notice in photos that the HR and MIN buttons are flush with the case. That means they must be pushed down with some object. I noticed right from the beginning that those two buttons were difficult to operate. After just a few uses, both buttons when pushed down got stuck. That renders the clock useless as there is no way to get the buttons back up. Though this Chinese-made clock is initially inexpensive, it is actually too expensive considering the very few times it operated properly.
Pros
- Excellent backlight. Good basic functions without unneeded bells & whistles.
Cons
- Did not work very long.

Hey! A travel clock that actually stays lit at night!

This compact little travel alarm clock works pretty well. I think it's made by the same company that made my LLBean travel alarm that does NOT have a backlit screen. Kinda' cheap, but does the job. Have no idea how long the battery lasts (have only used it one week), but I simply toss a spare AAA battery in my toiletry kit and I'm good to go when it dies. Alarm is loud enough for me, and it keeps good time. Love the constantly lit screen. Hated having to reach over and try to find the button to check the time in a dark hotel room, or AirB&B with the other travel clocks I have owned. I recommend it!
Happy to find it again

I had this travel clock and made the mistake of not turning off the light sensor before storing it. Not only did the battery run down because the backlight stayed on, but the light burned out. You can change the battery but not the lightbulb. I couldn't find the clock again and nothing else has been as good. I can open one eye in the middle of the night and read the numbers because they are backlit and big enough. It is very, very small and I soon got used to the controls. That takes a bit of getting used to but they are easy once you memorize how much you move the slider for each function.
Pros
- Easy to read in the dark.
Cons
- You must remember to turn off the light sensor when putting it away.
One problem...

This is exactly what I was wanting. However, the light sensor doesn't work very well. It's supposed to come on automatically, when the room is dark. My room must not get dark enough. That's ok with me though, because everything else is great.
Very practical

I love that the glow light is not strong enough to bother when sleeping and yet it can clearly be seen. To me was very important to find a clock I could check at night without having to tap on something for the light to come on, like with most. With this one I just open one eye and know what the time is. Very practical!
