Like the title says, it isn't windproof. Just a plain old lighter. It's a little hard to push both buttons, to make it light. It's heavy, and seems well made though. And the flame can be adjusted. I needed the torch like flame of a windproof lighter, and was able to remove the end cap, and adjust the flame higher. Although it's still not what I needed. But it is better, and likely dangerous, with this modification. Bottom line, if you're looking for a plain flame lighter, that's not as long as the disposable ones that you see in stores. Then this could be the one for you.
